I have been thinking a lot about Christmas throughout this month. I was thinking about how this season of the year affects us. Some of us are sad due to the fact that we are remembering those we have lost. Some of us are stressed and overwhelmed with the gatherings, the shopping, the baking and endless preparations. Some of us are relaxed and just reveling in the peace of the season. EMU agreed to pay her $75,000, saying it did not want to continue spending money on an expensive trial. It also removed the expulsion from her record, according to Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), which represented Ward in the suit. An Egyptian court yesterday sentenced the atheist activist blogger Alber Saber Ayyad, who comes from a Coptic background, to three years imprisonment for blasphemy and contempt of religion. According to Ahmed Ezzat, his defence lawyer, Saber was meant to be released after representatives paid bail amounting to 1000 Egyptian Pounds (approximately £100), but was ordered to return to prison despite the judge’s seeming willingness to release him. |
