![]() This seems fitting, Easter is this weekend and this is when I am wrapping up my family series. Today I will be discussing unconditional love and how that looks in a family. First, what is unconditional love. Well, pretty much just as it sounds. It is love that knows no bounds. God taught us all about this type of love when He sent his son to die on the cross for our sin. ![]() Connie and I would like to extend blessings unto you this Easter weekend. A very wise man I know said that, "Out of all the days of the year, if you don't get Easter you are missing the point about Christianity". Take time this weekend to celebrate and remember Christ's great sacrifice with friends and family. We will be once again be posting new content as of Tuesday April 2nd. Interestingly enough, both abominations are twin roots of the same tree nurturing the culture of death. They are both Anti-Christ, anti-life, anti-family, and anti-child. Regardless of which way the Supreme Cort rules, the truth is man cannot make straight what God calls crooked (Ecclesiastes 1:15). We cannot tolerate what God deems intolerable and neither can we continue to change moral wrongs into civil rights and expect to thrive as a nation. ![]() Iraqi Christian parliamentarian Khales Joshua criticized the practice of purchasing Christian lands in Kurdistan at exorbitant prices, an area which enjoys the greatest Christian majority in Iraq. He said such practices aim to alter the demographic distribution in the region. In a press statement today, Joshua added, "The problem lies in interpreting misinterpreting constitutional articles. This problem is public as each party interprets these articles according to their own interest.” ![]() An HCJB Global partner radio station in Bangui, Central African Republic (CAR), has been overrun by looters following a weekend coup. As rebels and gunmen roam the streets, the station operated by ICDI has been stripped of equipment essential to continue operation. "We are grateful to learn that all of the ICDI staff from the station are safe," said Wayne Pederson, president and CEO of HCJB Global. "However, there is much distress among our personnel, not only for the destruction of the station in which they have invested their lives, but also for the people of Central African Republic, who have been thrown into disorder." His cousin was his hero. But one Christmas Eve his hero ended his own life, leaving Jeremy with questions and no answers. At midnight on Good Friday, March 29, 2013, Jesus will take over Daley Plaza, as a nine-day prayer vigil commences. The Thomas More Society, a Chicago-based national public interest law firm, joins private donors to sponsor "Jesus in Daley Plaza." Sharing the plaza with Chicago's Picasso will be a 14-foot tall cross and a 10-foot tall image of the resurrected Jesus. An Interdenominational Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, March 31, at 7 a.m. will feature the music of Greater Chicago Church. Daley Plaza is located at 50 West Washington, between Clark and Dearborn, in downtown Chicago.
When erected, Thursday evening, March 28 at 8 p.m., the huge cross will be draped in purple linens. On Easter Sunday, as the resurrection of Christ is celebrated, the drapery will be changed to the traditional white to symbolize new life. At the same time, "The Divine Mercy" image of Christ will also be revealed. "The Divine Mercy Project: Prayer in the Public Square" runs 24 hours a day, with an ongoing vigil through Sunday, April 7. ![]() With the 30 Hour Famine national event less than forty days away, World Vision is encouraged by new statistics showing a big jump in the number of teens signing up to participate in the April 26th - 27th event. The charity says one of the reasons is an emphasis this year on social media outreach. Last April, 30 Hour Famine (30HF) reported more than 3,200* groups signing up to do 30HF. This year, more than 3,500 have signed up, an almost eight (7.8) percent jump. This year, almost a quarter million teens will fast to fight global hunger. 30HF is the world's largest teen hunger awareness campaign. Since 30HF began in 1992, teens have raised more than $150 million to fight global hunger. The United Nations says in 1992, 40,000 children died from hunger and preventable causes. Today it's 19,000, still too high but proof that efforts like 30HF are helping. ![]() A partnership between actor/producer Kirk Cameron and Liberty University was announced during “Praise the Lord” on TBN, hosted by Cameron and featuring Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr. as a special guest.
