Iranian-Born American Pastor Arrested and Tortured Without Charges; 2nd Pastor Still Jailed & Ill

An American pastor has been imprisoned on secret charges and tortured in Iran as the country pursues a crackdown on house churches.

Fox News reports that Saeed Abedini, a 32-year-old Iranian man who is a U.S. citizen, was detained while on a visit to see family members and conduct humanitarian work. Abedini, who lives in the United States with his wife and two children, previously spent years in Iran developing house churches.

It’s called the Queen James Bible (I kid you not), and the editors state that, “We edited those eight verses in a way that makes homophobic interpretations impossible.”

Operation Rescue has announced that it is awarding the Pre-Born Children with the 2012 Malachi Award.

"As we near the 40th memorial of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that decriminalized abortion in America, we can look back and see how the public attitudes have changed toward pre-born babies," said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue.

Vietnamese Catholic blogger and religious freedom advocate Nguyen Huu Vinh has been awarded the Hellman/Hammett award for writers facing political persecution. Nguyen Huu Vinh (also known as Jean Baptiste Nguyen Huu Vinh) was among 41 people selected for the Hellman/Hammett award administered by the human rights NGO Human Rights Watch.

Indonesian Woman Beaten, Jailed for Sharing Jesus

Ribur was beaten and locked in jail for 60 days because she talked about Jesus.

Ribur grew up in a Christian family in Indonesia, and during high school she became interested in mission work. After studying for five years in a Bible school, she joined a community-development group that was teaching agricultural methods to villagers in Aceh, located in the far north of Indonesia’s most western island, Sumatra. Teaching agricultural methods, such as organic farming and livestock breeding, gave the team an opportunity to hear about people’s lives and share their Christian faith if asked.

Christians Under Constant Attack in India's Most Hostile State

Not a week goes by without a Christian being attacked somewhere in the south Indian state of Karnataka, where more than 40 incidents of violence on Christians have been reported this year.

Each attack deepens the sense of insecurity among Christians, who account for 1.9 percent of the 61 million people in Karnataka. But it is mostly Christians from small, independent groups who bear the brunt of hostilities.
