The Center for Jewish-Christian Understanding and Cooperation (CJCUC) is proud to announce the opening of its Latin-American division. The former Chief Rabbi of Chile, Dr. Angel Kreiman-Brill, will be heading the office. Gaza residents cleared rubble and claimed victory on Thursday, just hours after an Egyptian-brokered truce between Israel and Gaza's Hamas rulers ended the worst cross-border fighting in four years.
The cease-fire announcement had set off frenzied late night street celebrations in the coastal strip, and raised hopes of a new era in relations between Israel and Hamas. The two sides are now to negotiate a deal that would open the borders of the blockaded Palestinian territory. This Gospel of John Bible study presents a profound perspective of Jesus Christ and your relationship to Him. This challenging study format is suitable for individual daily study or weekly group reviews. It offers you a great opportunity for personal growth. Chapter Three contains the most famous or well-known verse of Scripture in the world today: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus said this, but to whom did he say it and what does it mean for us today? <more...> We are living in perilous times—and I’m dedicated to exposing the schemes of Satan and then educating Christians on what to do about it. We are finding that many churches have become Satan's sanctuary. Satan can sit down and savor a soft sermon. The pillow prophets behind the sacred pulpit won’t dare preach against him. Rather, they offer us savory snacks that produce anemic malnourished Christians whose lives are void of Holy Ghost strength. In furtherance of our mission statements, the Christian Association of Nigerian-Americans, CANAN has today launched a Relief Fund to support victims of Boko Haram attacks in Nigeria. This fund, according to Dr. James Fadele, the Chairman of the association, is meant, at this season of thanksgiving and Christmas, to encourage, support and lift-up family members and relatives of those who have been killed, suffered injury or those traumatized through the terrorist activities of that extremist-fundamentalist group in Nigeria. “Let us think often that our only business in this life is to please God. Perhaps all besides is but folly and vanity.” Brother Lawrence was born Nicholas Herman in the region of Lorraine, located in modern day eastern France. He received a revelation of the providence and power of God at the age of 18, but it would be another six years before he joined the Discalced Carmelite Prior in Paris. In this intervening period he fought in the Thirty Years' War and later served as a valet. Nicholas entered the priory in Paris as a lay brother, not having the education necessary to become a cleric, and took the religious name, "Lawrence of the Resurrection". He spent almost all of the rest of his life within the walls of the priory, working in the kitchen for most of his life and as a repairer of sandals in his later years. <more...> A retired pastor from the COCIN (Church of Christ in Nations) denomination was shot dead in his home in Borno State yesterday as he and his family were preparing to attend a Sunday church service. His death came as a police inspector and a politician were gunned down in attacks in Bauchi and Kano States respectively. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) in Pakistan today ordered that the case against Rimsha Masih, the young Christian girl accused of blasphemy in August, be thrown out. Last week the IHC reserved its judgment on an application from Rimsha Masih’s lawyers for the original charge to be annulled. Her lawyers contended that the charge was fabricated and cited the girl’s age and learning difficulties as reasons for dismissal. During today’s hearing, IHC Chief Justice Iqbal Hameed ur Rahman ordered the police to dismiss the First Information Report (FIR) filed against her. Her accuser’s lawyers retain the right to appeal the decision. UPS recently announced it would stop funding the Boy Scouts of America because the Boy Scouts will not risk having its scouts led by scoutmasters who might have a sexual interest in the boys. The Boys Scouts of America faces millions of dollars in lawsuits because of past abuses by gay scoutmasters. |
