For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! What should Christians be filled with? How does God do much more than we ask or think of?

Jesus Christ is in heaven, but at the same time he can live in our hearts and minds by his Spirit. We must believe that he will do this. It is God’s Spirit who makes this possible. God’s Spirit helps us to know the wonderful love of Christ. God wants us to be filled with the love of Christ. This really means to be filled with God himself (see John 14:23). This is something very wonderful. It is good to think and pray about it every day. It will make a difference to everything we say and do.

What difference would it make if you were filled with the love and power of Jesus Christ? What difference would it make in your life? What difference would it make in your family? What difference would it make in the village or town where you live? Spend some time praying that these things will happen to all the Christians in your town, village or country. Pray the same thing for all God’s people in other countries.
