Heartache seems to overwhelm us
Breaking spirits down, questions flow
Like pouring raindrops hiding from view
The golden sunshine we once knew
Our tears don't heed them, all changes new
Surrounding us is now, a new shelter
Protecting us as turmoil's storms blew
The shelter, our protector, Christ
Folding us within His arms
His smile seems yet the dearer
Oh, how His message does warm
Through cold darkness that surrounds
Darkness tries to cling and grasp
Cannot stand against His presence
God's smile, His love, to which we clasp
Has no end, no bottom, no measure
Knowing no cage, a Spirit sent dove
God's Spirit sent to you, to your heart
Made in his image, we are God's love
His smile offers us a new tomorrow
So we carry on
Rough and hard the way
weary are our steps
but Christ remains our stay!
