Let's Talk About
Obadiah

_ Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down,” declares the LORD. (Obadiah 1:4)
Obadiah was inspired by God to warn the people of Edom that God’s punishment for their sins was fast approaching. Obadiah was not the first to have prophesies against Edom read the following passages: Isaiah 34:5-15; Jeremiah 49:7-22; Ezekiel 25:12-14; 35:1-5 and Amos 1:11-12.
God has shown again and again that he will bring down that which is sinfully exalted. These are specific sins mentioned in Obadiah: violence, hostile attitude, joy at the calamity of others, boasting in times of other's distress, spoiling God's people, preventing escape of fugitives and betrayal.
