_Mission Without Worship is Dead: Conference
by: Greg Markey

Worship is much more than singing praise music at a church service; it affects how we serve God in our communities, says Brian Craig, director of leadership development for the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec."Worship is putting God in God's proper place in our lives," he says.
The theme for the CBOQ's annual assembly is "the intersection between worship and mission."
The three-day gathering, held May 31 to June 2, will reflect on how worship and the world affect how Christians serve outside the walls of their church. It is hoped the discussion will provide attendees insight on how worship can affect missions in their communities, such as in the workplace.
Worship and mission "have to walk together, not separately," Craig says.
Darrell Johnson (the assembly's theme speaker, and senior minister of First Baptist Church in Vancouver) says that worship matures a Christian's missional life, making service a fruitful pursuit.
Johnson says, "I think mission dies without worship."
